NYFW 2018 American Made in America Womens Shows

New York City is always abuzz with fashionistas in February because of the annual New York Fashion Show, which generally occurs the the first two weeks in February.

We've been specifically following the shows over the past few years for designers who make their lines in America.  The stylish array of choices that exist in the American made space is so exciting.

Below is a recap of our favorite pieces from the 2018 February New York Fashion Show.

CREATURES OF COMFORT:
The Creatures of Comfort Fall/Winter 2018 Collection is our favorite as yet.  It screams 'Hip Executive' and many pieces can transition easily to after-hours.

CUSHNIE ET OCHS:
Cushnie et Ochs always includes some sort of subtle surprise element into their otherwise simple and elegant evening wear.  Whether it be an exposed neckline, shoulder or waistline; sheer or metallic material; or an unexpected bright color, Cushnie et Ochs pieces never fail to take modern shapes up a notch to the most fashion forward level. What we love the most about this collection is that there is a refined sexiness to each of the Cushnie et Ochs dresses that even more conservative women might feel comfortable to wear.

HELLESSY:
Last year Hellessy took home the grand prize in terms of quantity of favorite American Made items we selected.  This year, although we did not select a slew of pieces, the ones we did choose are two of our absolute favorites.  Both long, flowy dresses by Hellessy are so many things.  They each embody femininity, romanticism and beauty. Their shapes are flattering to many shapes and the colors of both emit nothing but pure joy!

J. MENDELL
The images below are a bit hard to see, but are definitely worth zooming in on, because the amount of intricate work on these pieces is truly beautiful.  The first two of our favorite J. Mendell styles from NYFW Fall/Winter 2018 are wonderful cocktail party or party selects.  Normally we keep very fancy items out of the NYFW recap, but we were so in love with J. Mendells tulle dress, that we just had to include it.  We love everything about this dress and would make an amazing select for a gala or fancy party.

THE ROW:
This year, it looks like The Row takes the sweep for 'the most favored items' prize. The Row is known for using very simple colors, and very simple lines, but somehow transforming both of these into extremely well-styled, luxurious pieces. The Row is so luxurious in fact, that it is really out of reach to most of us, but it is still quite fun to gaze at, which is why we included our favorite of The Row's NYFW's Fall/Winter 2018's items below.

 ZERO + MARIA CORNEJO:
The use of color in the NYFW 2018 Fall/Winter Zero + Maria Cornejo collection are stunning.  Even though we aren't huge fans of crimson red and soft blue, somehow we want every single one of these pieces! The lines of these items are gorgeous and then the patterns and colors on each item make each one stand out far and above a similar item cut in a similar style.
