The Petit Mioche clothing line is beautifully romantic, using soft colors and locally made in The United States of America. Petit Mioche uses archaic European sewing techniques with a modern, eclectic twist making each item, and the entire line, quite unique.
Since the launch of Petit Mioche’s children’s line, they have since expanded to a wonderful synergistic womens clothing line. The same environmental, quality fabric and exceptional craftsmanship requirements are still critical and imparted in the womenswear line. That means each piece: is handmade in California; uses organic, fairly traded fabrics and materials; and supports ethical labor practices, minimizing their environmental impact.
Petit Mioche strongly believes in using fabrics that are Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS) certified. This means the textiles used in Petit Mioche’s line use the highest standard of organic fabrics available. In addition to being environmentally responsible, GOTS certification also means fabrics have been produced responsibly, safely and using fair pay for workers.
Petit Mioche also produces some of their own textiles! Some of the line is dyed onsite using whole or powdered plants. Petit Mioche uses natural dyes because they believe it is better for the skin, especially sensitive skin, which can benefit by touching non-toxic, all natural materials. Since each of the hand-dyed garments are hand made using a slow dyeing process, the precise color of every item can vary slightly.
The entire Petit Mioche line is handmade in Ojai, California. Local production is also an environmental benefit as fewer co² emissions are released from shipping. Petit Mioche produces orders on a made-to-order basis, reducing production waste.
Petit Mioche donates 5% of every sale the Circle of Health International (COHI), which is a non-profit organization funding children and women worldwide, further supporting their place in the marketplace as an ethical brand.
